Job Overview

Position Title: Crisis Intervention Specialist

Reports To: Crisis Program Supervisor

Employment Type: Regular Part-time, Non-exempt, Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, your primary role will be to deliver essential information, referral services, and immediate crisis support to individuals and community professionals at all hours.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Provide guidance and consultation to team members during shifts
  • Assist in the triage process and direct services according to team goals
  • Ensure precise documentation of client interactions
  • Safeguard client rights and maintain confidentiality
  • Work collaboratively with program personnel to facilitate client access to urgent services
  • Conduct follow-ups with clients who may be at risk of crisis
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of emergency situations
  • Stay informed on required training for service delivery
  • Engage in community outreach programs
  • Participate in agency initiatives and events
  • Support operational efforts during emergencies
  • Maintain familiarity with agency policies and procedures
  • Execute additional responsibilities as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma with a preference for experience in human services
  • Completion of Basic Crisis Intervention and Crisis Management training
  • Availability for shifts on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and overnight hours

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of technology and computer systems
  • Demonstrated crisis intervention skills
  • Knowledgeable in substance abuse and mental health matters
  • Effective communication and assessment of needs

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight
  • Respectful of diverse backgrounds while maintaining professionalism
  • Familiar with program protocols and contact center operations
  • Access to reliable internet and cellular communication
