Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to enhance our Community Development Department. This role involves collaborating with a team on diverse site projects across northern New England.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Civil Engineer will:
- Lead site and civil engineering projects from initial design through to permitting.
- Oversee detailed site design, including layout, grading, utilities, and erosion control measures.
- Design stormwater drainage systems and conduct hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for infrastructure projects.
- Mentor project staff to foster professional development and growth.
- Engage in business development activities related to site development and municipal engineering.
- Manage client communications and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control standards throughout project execution.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil and Environmental Engineering.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (10+ years preferred).
- A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience with HydroCAD is advantageous.
- Familiarity with GIS, HEC-RAS, and/or OpenRoads modeling is a plus.
- Experience in soil evaluation for wastewater and stormwater management is beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
