Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structures Department Manager to join our team at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson Inc. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the growth and development of our structures division, driving business success, and managing a team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic growth plans in collaboration with office managers and practice leaders
  • Establish and maintain a strong market presence through effective marketing and business development strategies
  • Manage departmental finances, allocate resources, and ensure budgetary compliance
  • Lead the production of proposals and serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and staff
  • Establish staffing needs, interview, and hire staff for the section
  • Perform performance reviews and provide continuous performance management to team members
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
  • Professional Engineer License in NJ
  • 15+ years' experience in bridge and structure design
  • Project management and business development experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
  • NJDOT and NJTA experience
  • Supervisory experience
Working Conditions

This role is performed within a general office environment with a sedentary work nature, occasional standing, and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions within the office environment.
