Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital, a part of Fairview Health Services, is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Women's Health and Birth Center team. As a clinically competent nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients and families in the department, advocating for their needs and respecting their decisions.
Job Summary:A registered professional nurse with expertise in Labor and Delivery and pre/postpartum care, you will deliver critical care to patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Your responsibilities will include providing timely, accurate, and professional nursing care to patients and families, ensuring patient safety throughout the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide quality care to all patients, ensuring patient safety and advocating for their needs.
- Complete admission assessments according to unit policy, utilizing past medical history, therapeutic communication, and physical assessment.
- Identify nursing diagnosis/collaborative problems and determine appropriate interventions within the framework of accepted standards of care.
- Assess individual patient needs and develop appropriate plans of care.
- Maintain accurate, objective patient records.
- Ensure efficiency and accuracy of orders.
- Assume patient care responsibilities by organizing workload effectively and remaining flexible to environmental changes.
- Utilize departmental equipment correctly and efficiently, demonstrating knowledge of special preparations or equipment needed for department-specific procedures.
- Communicate professionally and collaborate effectively with patients, families, co-workers, healthcare team members, and ancillary departments to ensure patient-centered coordination of care.
- Demonstrate ability to manage large volumes of multiple patient, family, staff, and physician priorities within short time frames and organize workload, including critical thinking, delegation skills, and respectful communication.
- Registered with the Minnesota Board of Nursing. BSN preferred.
- Equivalent of one (1) year LDRP experience within past 2 years.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required and maintain certification.
- Current NRP certification or attends NRP within 3 months of employment and maintains certification.
- Completion of Fetal Heart Monitoring course preferred, or completes within 6 months of employment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission, and values.
- Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
