Position Summary:
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing cost assessments for various projects and services, assisting management in the bidding process and pricing strategies. This role involves providing professional support to the Operations Manager, field supervisors, and clients.

Compensation:
This is a salaried position with a compensation range of $60,000 - $115,000, subject to variation based on location, skills, and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed bid hour and bid sheets for substation project estimates, with potential cross-training on transmission lines.
  • Engage with suppliers to obtain pricing information.
  • Prepare take-offs and staking sheets.
  • Review and familiarize yourself with bid documents.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary.
  • Communicate project status and assignments to department members.
  • Evaluate and enhance estimating techniques for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support fellow estimating team members.
  • Gather historical cost data to inform current and future estimates.
  • Prepare estimates for management to assist in planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
  • Analyze blueprints and documentation to provide time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors, clients, engineers, and contractors regarding project changes and estimates.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Substation Estimating or Electrical Utilities estimating.
  • Possession of a valid and active Driver's License.

Pre-employment Requirements:
Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and/or MVR check.
