Role Summary

As a Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional front-line customer service, alongside providing security and reception support to our clients, visitors, and team members within a high-traffic logistics environment. An SIA license is mandatory due to the nature of the responsibilities involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing access control for employees, visitors, and contractors, including the issuance of keys and identification badges.
  • Conducting foot patrols to monitor activities and identify potential stock discrepancies.
  • Performing bag and body searches with the aid of hand-held metal detectors.
  • Utilizing walk-through scanners for screening individuals.
  • Professionally investigating and managing incidents as they arise.
  • Addressing customer inquiries and requests effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate records through both digital and paper-based systems.
  • Monitoring CCTV and alarm systems to ensure safety and security.

Required Skills and Experience:

The position necessitates strong IT and keyboard proficiency, along with skills in report writing, reception duties, and visitor management. To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Outstanding customer service capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • A strong command of both spoken and written English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Computer literacy, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and custom mobile applications.
  • Previous experience in security is advantageous.
  • Flexible teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, management, and colleagues.

If selected, you will be required to provide a comprehensive five-year history for vetting purposes, along with original documents confirming your right to work, National Insurance number, and address.

The distribution center operates around the clock, and as part of a small team, reliability and flexibility are essential to support your colleagues as needed. Working hours and shift patterns may vary, including both day and night shifts.
