Overview

The Newport Engineering Office (NEO) department at General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking skilled engineers to join their Simulation/Stimulation (Sim/Stim) system design and development team in Middletown, RI. As a member of this team, you will apply diversified engineering skills to produce simulation and stimulation test products in support of the Command and Control System Module (CCSM) Off-Hull Assembly and Test Site (COATS) facilities for VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA classes of submarines.

This is an opportunity to work with a diverse group of engineers who are committed to producing quality products that greatly support the US NAVY. NEO boasts lab space and development assets that support Sim/Stim development, offering the chance to work on large technically challenging projects in a small office environment.

The department is located in a small corporate park with plenty of parking and is close to the Naval Underwater Warfare Center (NUWC), local housing, restaurants, and shops.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Networking degree
  • Eligible for a Secret security clearance

  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Working knowledge of JIRA, Git, or GitLab
  • System administration experience

  • Experience developing requirements specifications, test procedures, test reports, and technical manuals
  • Experience leading projects
