Job Overview

The role of the Superintendent involves leading and managing the construction team on-site, ensuring that all activities are conducted in an orderly manner while adhering to safety standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the hiring, training, and management of field personnel and subcontractors; assign tasks effectively.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to schedule tasks, verify compliance with contract specifications, and provide daily guidance on work methods and progress.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities to align with general contractor schedules; evaluate subcontractor performance to ensure efficient labor utilization.
  • Assess the needs for supplies, materials, and equipment; manage delivery and distribution schedules.
  • Utilize production and equipment cost data regularly to monitor project efficiency against the established timeline.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with representatives from contracting agencies regarding work performance.
  • Ensure the project operates profitably and efficiently.
  • Participate in pre-project meetings with supervisory staff to emphasize the importance of production quality and cost management.
  • Foster a safe and equitable working environment for all team members.
  • Assist in project documentation and the preparation of final reports.
  • Carry out additional tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 10 years in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a superintendent role on comparable projects.
  • Familiarity with EM requirements and experience in hazard identification and safety regulations.
  • Ability to interpret critical path schedules and construction drawings accurately.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation: Starting salary of $90,000 per year.
