Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Medical Office Assistant (CMOA) to join our ambulatory care team. In this role, you will ensure an outstanding patient experience, from taking vital signs to assisting with patient discharge. CMOAs are essential in documenting patient medical histories, performing vital sign assessments, aiding in minor procedures, administering medications as instructed, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and report patient vital signs using medical equipment; perform basic procedures such as visual acuity tests, POC testing, and EKGs.
  • Assist in transporting patients to various areas as needed.
  • Document patient care tasks in medical records and reinforce education provided by healthcare professionals.
  • Prepare exam rooms for patient care and ensure the availability of necessary patient information.
  • Oversee weekly equipment checks and assist in maintaining compliance with clinic standards.
  • Act as a mentor for new medical assistants and externs, facilitating their integration into the team.
  • Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
  • Ensure the safety and functionality of equipment and facilities.
  • Confirm patient consent and authorization for medical procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain clinical and technical skills.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and provide guidance to non-licensed staff as needed.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or one year of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization.
  • Medical Assistant certification from a recognized body.
