Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of current or temporary licensure in the applicable state.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support must be obtained shortly after hiring.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in relevant healthcare settings.

Core Responsibilities: The following duties outline the essential functions of this role, though additional responsibilities may be assigned:

  1. Implement treatment plans established by the supervising physical therapist to enhance patient mobility and functionality.
  2. Adjust priorities for patient care based on individual needs and available resources, collaborating with nursing staff to ensure safe patient handling.
  3. Educate patients and their caregivers on treatment protocols, safety precautions, and equipment usage, ensuring understanding through demonstration.
  4. Maintain accurate documentation of all therapeutic interventions in accordance with departmental policies.
  5. Process billing for services rendered accurately, utilizing the electronic medical record system.
  6. Oversee the training and supervision of students and volunteers within the department.

Physical Requirements: The role demands certain physical capabilities, including:

  • Ability to lift and move patients safely, adhering to recommended weight limits.
  • Engagement in physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment.
  • Visual acuity for close and distant tasks, as well as depth perception.
