Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Science Teacher to join our team at Alamance-Burlington Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to students in grades 6-8, promoting academic excellence and fostering a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the needs of all students
  • Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning community
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in science education
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field
  • Valid North Carolina teaching license in Science Education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Passion for teaching and learning
Preferred Qualifications
  • National Board Certification in Science Education
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Fluency in Spanish or other languages
