Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at Starr Insurance Companies. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for the continued development and growth of our book of business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive business growth and profitability
  • Manage a portfolio of insurance policies, including solicitation of submissions, underwriting analysis, and documentation
  • Prepare and issue quotations, negotiate programs, and provide exceptional service to clients
  • Conduct client stewardship meetings and market to agents and brokers to drive new business production
  • Collaborate with Claims, Actuary, Audit, Loss Control, and Credit teams to ensure seamless account management
  • Travel to key markets and accounts to maintain a strong presence in the marketplace
Requirements
  • 4-year degree in finance, engineering, business administration, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in underwriting casualty lines, preferably with pollution experience
  • Proven track record in managing an insurance portfolio and developing relationships with wholesale and retail brokers

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
