Job Title: Estimator

At Holt Construction Corp., we are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in accurately estimating the total costs associated with a project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed conceptual budgets from pre-construction, concept design, schematic design, and design development documents
  • Perform detailed take-offs of all trades
  • Initiate prequalification process of all subcontractors
  • Manage the entire bid process, inclusive of preparation of detailed bid packages and assurance of accurate and proper submissions/proposals by all subcontractors
  • Accurately level all subcontractor bids and review to select the most cost-effective option
  • Review documentation, meet with clients, and inspect the construction site to fully understand the project requirements
  • Collect all pertinent documents, including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications
  • Perform risk assessments to account for potential deviations from the project plan
  • Maintain relationships with key vendors and subcontractors
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and subcontractors to understand and incorporate project objectives, schedules, permits, costs, etc.
  • Communicate regularly with the field team on deliverables and procurement schedules
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
  • 4-7 years of experience in budgeting, estimating commercial interiors, retail, core and shell as well as out of the ground construction projects
  • Working knowledge of Aviation estimating
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in reading commercial construction plans and specifications
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential/proprietary information
  • Ability to multi-task while focusing on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure of bid deadlines
  • Ability to value engineer to best meet the goals of the project
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
