Our System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department is essential in providing support across the entire Scripps Health system.

As a member of the SSRS team, you will undertake important roles on assignments throughout the organization to ensure essential coverage for employee absences, illness, and peak service demands while gaining valuable experience in diverse settings.

Join our Scripps SSRS team as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) where you will deliver direct patient support within the boundaries of your practice.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering exceptional service to patients as an integral member of the clinical care team.
  • Assisting patients with personal care and daily living activities, gathering data, and ensuring a safe and organized environment for patients.
  • Supporting patient care within the limits allowed and under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
  • Aiding the unit with various patient logistics, administrative tasks, equipment/supply management, and charge reconciliation duties.
We are currently seeking candidates for Full-Time (72 hours) Days or Nights and Part-Time (48 hours) Days or Nights.

We offer two types of positions within our SSRS PCT Team:

SYSTEM-WIDE FLOAT TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who assist with daily operations and short-term assignments.


SYSTEM-WIDE RESOURCE TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who are full-time and may be assigned to one location for a duration of 4 weeks to 6 months to cover a leave of absence or vacancy.

Upon completion of the contract, the PCT will be reassigned to cover another contract.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of recent experience working under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from an accredited institution OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and following instructions in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on service.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • A variety of patient care skills are preferred.
  • Preferred one year of experience in an acute care setting.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to work across all five hospital campuses.

Position Pay Range:
$23.46-$29.25/hour
