Key Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed all financial expectations, budgets, and goals
  • Review and approve all projects set-ups and project status reports
  • Monitor pricing and review cost data with the Business Unit Manager
  • Resolve dollar disputes between estimates and the company's actual cost
  • Build and sustain customer relationships to ensure complete customer satisfaction
  • Manage dispatch procedures to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and proficient, effective communications with field staff resources
  • Directly responsible for all field labor, materials, other, profit, loss, project performance, safety, subcontractors, vendors, etc. within and in conjunction with the operations of the business unit
  • Management of all field labor with the business unit, including development of project teams and roles and responsibilities
  • Coordinating with the Business Unit Manager regarding hiring and termination of all field labor, conducting performance reviews of staff, recommending salary changes for field staff, resolving internal personnel issues, and development of talent with the business unit
  • Initiate field labor productivity improvements through field supervisor(s) and ensure quality of work to the company's standards and project requirements
  • Estimation of service repair and replacement projects
  • Promote and accountable for all aspects of Safety and Risk Management, including ensuring proper Notice to Proceed, Signed Contracts, Contract Change Orders, Certificate of Insurance, and Bonds
  • Assist Field Supervisor in regulating quality control on Service jobs
  • Maintain and protect the company image and culture and coach others in the company way
  • Ensure that employee morale and retention are kept at a high level
  • Maintain inventory and tool procurement for all service vehicles
  • Maintain continuing education program for Service field personnel
  • Perform Services orientation for new hires
  • Conduct project kick-off meetings to coordinate small jobs with supervision
  • Coordinate subs and vendors as related to Service jobs
  • Assist in software and technology tools (Estimation and hand-held devices) development
  • Participate in staff meetings with the Business Unit Manager, addressing management issues as well as training, safety, and productivity improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or a minimum of 5 years' experience with a proven track record in the service business
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Organized and self-motivated with the ability to lead a team of technicians
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Professional manner and appearance
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-versed in the industry and the company's competitors
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary
