Front of House Supervisor

The ideal candidate will oversee front-of-house operations in a restaurant setting, ensuring smooth management of daily activities. This role includes delegating responsibilities, mentoring staff, and delivering exceptional customer service to uphold efficient restaurant functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager or Restaurant Manager by assigning tasks and monitoring team performance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all front-of-house areas to assist staff as needed.
- Train new team members and support the General Manager with employee scheduling and break management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure adherence to the restaurant's standards for food quality, consistency, and timely service.
Quality Control Duties:
- Assist staff during busy periods by restocking supplies, serving customers, resetting tables, and managing guest complaints.
- Control seating arrangements during peak hours.
- Execute opening and closing procedures, ensuring all doors and gates are secured.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and know the protocols for reporting significant problems.
Complete opening and closing checklists accurately, document incidents, and escalate serious issues to management as necessary. Foster a collaborative team environment by motivating employees, resolving conflicts, and addressing any employee relations or guest concerns.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in full-service restaurant management or equivalent.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Focus, Aloha, or Micros is preferred.
- Availability for evening and graveyard shifts, with potential for overtime.
- Food Handlers' Card is required or the ability to obtain one prior to the first shift.
Additional Information:
- Preferred experience in restaurant management: 2 years.
- Driver's License and Food Handler Certification are preferred.
- US work authorization is required.
- Associate degree is preferred.
