Join Our Team as a First Grade ICT Special Education Teacher

At WHIN Music Community Charter School, we are committed to providing a high-quality education to our diverse student population. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate First Grade ICT Special Education Teacher to join our team.

About the Role

The First Grade ICT Special Education Teacher will be responsible for creating and maintaining a fun, engaging, and inclusive classroom culture where all students love to learn. This includes differentiating instruction to meet learners' needs, developing and implementing curriculum and assessments for students with disabilities, and driving academic outcomes for all students.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with disabilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement an effective integrated co-teaching model to serve all students in an inclusive classroom
  • Conduct assessments and analyze data to inform instruction and drive academic outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education and ICT
Qualifications
  • NYS or equivalent Special Education Teaching Certification
  • Urban elementary teaching experience
  • Experience teaching 5th-8th grade
  • Demonstrated success raising achievement levels of all students
  • An unwavering belief that all students can achieve at a high level
  • Proven commitment and success working with students and families
