Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified ICT Special Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing innovative lesson plans, collaborating with colleagues, and providing individualized support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Leadership
    • Develop and implement rigorous, standards-based lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with disabilities
    • Collaborate with general education teachers to design and deliver inclusive instructional strategies
    • Use data-driven approaches to inform instruction and drive student progress
  • Classroom Management
    • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional learning and academic achievement
    • Implement behavior management techniques to foster a productive learning environment
    • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a supportive community
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in special education and instructional strategies
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve instructional effectiveness

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or higher in Special Education or related field
  • New York Special Education Certification
  • Relevant urban teaching experience with demonstrated student results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Spanish language proficiency a plus

What We Offer

Brilla Public Charter Schools offers a competitive salary range of $69,000-$98,500 per year, a comprehensive benefits package, and a $6,000 sign-on bonus paid out in two installments over the first year of employment.
