The Burke Center is seeking a skilled Nurse (LVN/RN) to provide high-quality nursing services to clients at our Polk Mental Health Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing services to clients, including tracking and administering medications, conducting lab tests, and completing nursing assessments.
- Oversee the indigent medication program, complete medication consents, and manage prescription refills and insurance prior authorizations.
- Answer patient phone questions and provide education on medication management and other health-related topics.
- Inventory medications, document patient information, and coordinate drug representative visits.
- Supervise non-licensed medical support staff and maintain a high level of team communication and organizational skills.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and licensure as a Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nursing examiners.
- One year of experience working with individuals having mental illness in an inpatient or community setting (LVN) or six months of experience as a RN working with individuals having mental illness in an inpatient or community setting.
- Texas licensed Vocational Nurse or Texas licensed Registered Nurse.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
- Knowledge of current nursing practices and principles, specific to each age group of individuals.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Ability to complete SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggressive Behavior), CPR, and First Aid training modules.
- Insurable driving record.
- Sight, hearing, talking, lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing and/or sitting, walking, bending, or kneeling, driving a vehicle, and hand/finger dexterity.
Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Compensation$40,984 - $53,300 annually; depending on licensure and experience.
