Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Ascension Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in Hoffman Estates, IL. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and supporting the treatment team in our inpatient behavioral health program.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct behavioral health patient care, including assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing or assisting with diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and activities, reporting any changes in condition and suggesting modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring patient-centered care and promoting positive outcomes.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention credentialed from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) preferred.
  • Nurse Aide credentialed from the Illinois Department of Public Health preferred.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
