JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania Housing Research Center (PHRC) at Penn State is looking for a qualified individual to support its mission of enhancing the quality and affordability of housing in Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, promote, and conduct training and technical education programs, including webinars and video content for design professionals, code officials, and residential builders.
2. Act as a liaison between the PHRC and Pennsylvania builders by attending board meetings and facilitating breakfast meetings, as well as participating in trade and professional association meetings and committees.
3. Contribute to the creation and production of the PHRC educational video library, builder briefs, and policy reports.
4. Maintain knowledge of and relationships within the residential construction and land development sectors, as well as relevant codes such as the International Residential Code and PA Uniform Construction Code.
5. Participate in various state and national committees as needed.
6. Assist in the development of the PHRC Magazine, annual reports, research proposals, and the annual PHRC Housing Conference.
Requirements and Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Preferred degrees include architecture, civil, mechanical, or architectural engineering, or related fields. Experience in residential construction, land development, or the housing industry is highly desirable.
Additional Information:
This is a limited-term position, funded for one year from the date of hire, with a strong possibility of renewal.

Penn State publishes an Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR) that includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those related to alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, and reporting of crimes.
