Warehouse Operations Specialist

Team Collaboration:
L&M Radiator, Inc., a worldwide innovator in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions, seeks a dedicated individual eager to expand their skills within our Warehouse team. This role involves collaboration with various departments, including Shipping and Receiving, Purchasing, Quality, Production, and Production Engineering, as well as interaction with external vendors and delivery personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the Warehouse Department, your duties will encompass:
- Expediting orders to the shop and maintaining precise inventory control.
- Receiving, inspecting, and directing incoming materials while ensuring effective communication with relevant parties.
- Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
This position operates on a schedule from Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with potential for overtime based on production demands.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of experience in a related field.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word applications.
- Experience in shipping and receiving processes.
Daily Activities:
- Organizing orders for the shop.
- Maintaining inventory documentation and control.
- Unloading vendor supplies and ensuring proper storage.
- Keeping the warehouse and parts cage orderly and clean.
- Notifying Quality personnel of incoming materials.
- Placing orders for daily items and managing purchase requisitions.
- Conducting accurate counts of shipments manually.
- Coordinating with the shipping clerk to expedite shipments.
- Assisting in other production areas as needed, if qualified.
- Adhering to safety guidelines and procedures.
- Potential for domestic and international travel based on project requirements.
- Performing related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including earplugs, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, and work uniforms.
- Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Standing on concrete for extended periods (8-10 hours).
- Working in high-temperature conditions.
- Maintaining safe work practices.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Consistent and reliable attendance.
- Basic understanding of steel materials and fasteners.
- Experience in material handling and packaging.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with hand tools.
- Exposure to blueprint reading.
- Ability to operate forklifts for loading and unloading.
- Utilizing various measuring devices.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
- Competency in basic math skills.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to pass pre-employment assessments including math, physical, drug, and background tests.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Epicor or similar ERP systems.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles.
This role may require additional duties outside of your primary responsibilities, with adequate training provided as necessary. Performance bonuses are also available for this position.
