Team Collaboration:
In this role, you will collaborate closely with various departments, including Shipping and Receiving, Purchasing, Quality, Production, and Production Engineering. Your interactions will extend beyond our internal teams to include external vendors and delivery personnel, ensuring smooth operations and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the Warehouse Department, your primary duties will include:
- Expediting orders to the shop and maintaining accurate inventory control.
- Receiving, inspecting, and directing incoming materials while ensuring effective communication with relevant parties.
- Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and supporting both office staff and the production floor.
- Working the designated shift from Sunday to Thursday, with potential overtime based on production demands.
Qualifications:
We seek candidates who meet the following criteria:
- High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of experience in a related field.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
- Age of 18 years or older.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word applications.
- Experience in shipping and receiving processes.
Daily Activities:
Your typical day will involve:
- Preparing orders for the shop.
- Maintaining inventory records and documentation.
- Unloading vendor supplies and organizing materials in appropriate storage areas.
- Keeping the warehouse and parts cage clean and orderly.
- Notifying Quality personnel of incoming materials.
- Placing orders for daily items and creating purchase requisitions.
- Conducting accurate counts of shipments.
- Coordinating with the shipping clerk to expedite outgoing shipments.
- Assisting in other production areas as needed, if qualified.
- Adhering to safety guidelines and procedures.
- Potential for domestic and international travel depending on project requirements.
Physical Demands:
This position requires:
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Standing on concrete for extended periods (8-10 hours).
- Working in high-temperature conditions.
- Maintaining safe work practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of steel materials and fasteners.
- Experience in material handling and packaging.
- Strong organizational skills and familiarity with hand tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and operate forklifts.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in math and computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to pass pre-employment assessments, including a written math test, physical examination, drug screening, and background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
- Familiarity with Epicor or similar ERP systems.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles.
