Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Assemble Heat Exchangers Specialist to join our team at Mesabi Control Engineering. This is a full-time hourly position with a midnight shift schedule, working Sunday through Thursday from 10:00pm to 6:00am.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test heat exchangers to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Build crates using hand and power tools, demonstrating mechanical ability and attention to detail.
  • Assemble radiators using electric power drive units, requiring strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Observe, guide, and assist with training new team members, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Assist in other areas of production as needed, if qualified, and perform work in a safe manner, adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required, including weekend travel, depending on project needs.
  • Perform related work or job duties as required by supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Exposure to blueprint reading is necessary, along with mechanical ability and experience operating air impacts, drills, and other power tools.
  • Ability to read tape measure, calipers, and micrometers is required.
  • Self-motivation, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn and advance quickly are essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary, as well as the ability to read, write, and use basic math skills.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test, physical, drug, and background test is required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED with 1 year related work experience is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical ability and experience using power tools and forklifts are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Epicor, Ultimate software, or similar ERP systems is a plus.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing is also desirable.
