We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to join our team at FutureRecruit. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our litigation efforts, including preparing civil litigation cases, managing litigation queues, and developing working relationships with outside lawyers and law firms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with evaluating the cost-benefit analysis of taking legal actions against defaulted customers.
  • Prepare civil litigation cases, including drafting and filing legal complaints and related documents.
  • Manage and monitor applicable litigation queues and data input to CRM system(s).
  • Develop working relationships with outside lawyers and law firms, and hold regular meetings to assess their progress on assigned matters.
  • Prepare Proofs of Claim within Bankruptcy Court, review bankruptcy plans for the treatment of claims, and prepare Claims within Probate matters.
  • Develop working relationships with third-party collection agencies, assess and resolve post-charge-off accounts for possible settlement, and exercise discretion and independent judgment in negotiating settlement terms and conditions.
  • Engage in outbound/inbound recovery calls to identify issues and provide solutions, and effectively communicate with and manage outside counsel with respect to the domestication of judgments and/or the initiation of new civil matters.
  • Resolve defaults with accuracy, professionalism, and compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and analyze corporate and/or personal financial data to assess the appropriate course of action.
  • Initiate research and skip-tracing efforts to facilitate legal/recovery action when applicable, and have a broad understanding of accounts receivable, payment application, and account reconciliation.
  • Assist and complete additional tasks/duties deemed needed by management, and assist management with drafting applicable revisions of departmental policies and procedures manual relating to the litigation process.
  • Work with the Asset Recovery & Remarketing team to help ensure NewLane recovers the equipment relating to the defaulted contract, and achieve monthly/quarterly/yearly targets and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Prepare and analyze applicable litigation and recovery reports to be shared with leadership, and be willing to work in accordance with our work schedule and learn new technology, processes, and procedures.
