Communications Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Communications Specialist to join our team at Sparks Group in Washington, DC.

This long-term, hybrid, part-time role offers approximately 20 hours of work per week, with the requirement to be present in the office for 1-2 days weekly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic communication strategies in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Coordinate creative services for communications materials, manage work plans, provide feedback, and lead communications meetings as needed.
  • Create and execute internal communication strategies to enhance employee performance, foster connections among staff, and reinforce our mission, vision, values, and culture.
  • Establish and maintain external communication strategies to expand brand awareness and elevate the Center and its leaders.
  • Implement a modern, reliable communications infrastructure to minimize administrative burden on communicators.
  • Project manage communication campaigns to ensure timely completion.
  • Compose content tailored to specific mediums and audiences across written, visual, interactive, and auditory formats.
  • Analyze communications performance and regularly report on status while continuously improving strategy, channels, content, and tactics.
  • Pursue innovative approaches to communication and collaborate with internal stakeholders to define communications needs and preferences.
  • Develop a cohort of media-trained staff for media placements and effectively collaborate with external communications teams to identify, pursue, and place key earned media content.

Salary Information: This position offers an hourly rate of $24.00-$26.00, which is competitive considering the industry standards and location.
