About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join our team at Curtiss-Wright Actuation Division. As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for administering a technically sound EHS program, which includes OSHA/DEP training, conducting audits and inspections, developing and implementing safety policies, resolving Worker's Compensation claims, maintaining emergency response and evacuation plans, and coordinating site waste removal and distribution of protective equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administers a technically sound EHS program, which includes the following actions: OSHA/DEP training, conduct audits & inspections, development & implementation of safety policies, resolve Worker's Compensation claims, maintain emergency response/evacuation plan, coordinate site waste removal & distribution of protective equipment
• Maintains close working relationships with departmental managers/supervisors to assure proper support of the safety program at each location
• Provides guidance to and counsels employees
• Investigates accidents, near misses, etc. that result from mechanical malfunction, material failure or human error
• Identifies hazards and recommends preventative measures and corrective action
• Maintains proficiency in the latest industrial, technical and engineering EHS practices, planning, initiatives and requirements

Requirements

• High School diploma or Equivalent
• 3-5 years experience in related field
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
