We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at UP Health System - Bell. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care to laboring women and newborns, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care to laboring women and newborns, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
- Documents patient care given and monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates with the care team to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.
- Completes a comprehensive assessment according to hospital policy and formulates a nursing diagnosis from assessment of patients' acute and chronic health problems.
- Communicates effectively all patient assessment data with healthcare professionals responsible for the patient.
- Completes a written care plan for assigned patients and reviews and revises according to established nursing guidelines.
- Provides daily care of each patient assigned in compliance with the written care plan.
- Graduate of a school of nursing.
- Current license to practice as an RN in the State of Michigan.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP).
- Licenses: Valid RN license in the State of Michigan.
- Computer and/or keyboarding skills.
- Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills.
- Ability to deal with change.
- Ability to respond appropriately even in challenging situations.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
