We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Acute Care Unit at UP Health System - Bell. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Document patient care given and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Follow established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.
- Willing and able to demonstrate appropriate core competencies annually or as requested.
- Current license to practice as an RN in the State of Michigan or graduate nurse with a valid temporary license.
- One year experience in an acute care setting.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or attained within 1 year of hire.
