Essential Qualifications:
- A degree in risk management, business administration, or a related discipline is advantageous but not mandatory.
- 1 - 3+ years of relevant experience in claims supervision, ideally within the transportation or logistics sector.
- Strong understanding of claims litigation, negotiation, and settlement methodologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial vehicle insurance policies.
- Demonstrated negotiation capabilities with the ability to efficiently resolve and finalize claims.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a proactive stance on risk management.
- Awareness of OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations.
Primary Duties:
- Manage the processing of property damage, bodily injury, workers' compensation, and cargo claims, including all related communication, documentation, assessment, negotiation, and resolution.
- Act as the main liaison for independent adjusters, third-party administrators (TPAs), claimants, and legal representatives to facilitate appropriate claim resolutions.
- Proactively address claims to minimize exposure, costs, and liabilities for the organization.
- Engage in investigations of vehicle accidents and workplace injuries, providing insights on causation and prevention.
- Maintain meticulous and organized records for all claims, including relevant documentation and timesheets.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the prompt return of injured personnel to work and oversee light-duty initiatives.
- Keep OSHA logs and manage reporting related to workplace incidents.
- Assist operational teams in enhancing driver safety performance, preventing injuries and accidents, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations.
- Oversee the insurance processes for all independent contractors, ensuring adequate coverage, managing deductions, and handling contract administration.
