Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist Specialist to join our team at Baptist Memorial Health Care. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive clinical services to patients and ensuring optimal medication use.

Responsibilities
  • Manage own pharmacy practice effectively, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Contribute to goals, programs, and report cards for the unit/department/hospital, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes, collaborating with healthcare team members to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Supervise and direct healthcare team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals, promoting health literacy and medication adherence.
  • Participate in projects and studies to enhance professional knowledge and patient care, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in pharmacy practice.
  • Manage medication orders, ensuring safe and effective medication use, including age-specific considerations.
  • Process and prepare sterile products for dispensing, adhering to strict quality control standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience, with a strong background in pharmacy practice and leadership.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Tennessee.
  • Special Skills: Advanced communication skills, computer skills, and high-level cognitive ability to interpret and assess written medication orders.
