Financial Coordinator Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a skilled and self-driven individual to join the Daytona Beach Business & Budget Services Department as a Financial Coordinator. This role will provide financial support to the college faculty/administration and college Financial Analyst at the Daytona Beach campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial support for sponsored projects, research grants, endowments, gifts, and general funds.
  • Process and assist with financial transactions in Workday, including travel expenditures, purchase requisitions, and capital transactions.
  • Assist the college Financial Analysts with financial tasks needed by the colleges.
  • Provide end-of-month reporting to college deans and departments.
  • Assist faculty principal investigators with grant/contract reporting.
  • Process budget transfers on behalf of college deans and financial analysts.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Office of Sponsored Research, and the Budget Office as needed to quickly solve problems.
  • Advise on policy and procedures, consulting with Financial Analyst and/or Chief Business Officer for resolution.
  • Request journal entries as needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation and approvals are completed with supporting documentation.
  • Support university and college initiatives and/or special projects as requested.
  • Serve as a backup for other business processes and act as a delegate or proxy as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics.
  • 1-3 years of higher education experience preferred.

  • Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Works well with and supports other people in the accomplishment of business goals.
