Steward - Carter Presidential Center

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward to join our culinary team at the Carter Presidential Center. As a Steward, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dish pit areas.
Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing and sorting dishes, and prepping foods as needed.
- Set up and break down dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of all Banquet buffets.
- Facilitate the delivery of all food to prospective functions.
- Maintain clean and dry floors throughout the shift.
- Properly wash, stack, and store China, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
- Change water in machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly use chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.
- Assist in the timely storing of food deliveries.
- Maintain trash cans throughout the shift and remove full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
- Maintain the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing the China room and warehouse.
- Follow the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
- Assist in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
- 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred, experience in customer service role is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- ServSafe Certified preferred.
This position will spend the majority of time in the Carter Presidential Center kitchen and dish pit area, where there will be hot water, chemicals, and typical kitchen equipment and utensils.
Uniform RequirementsAdherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.
Physical Demands- Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces, and traveling to different venues across greater Atlanta.
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
- Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
- Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.
