Job Overview

Position Summary: The Personal Care Assistant plays a vital role in providing essential support to individuals within their residences and communities who require assistance due to aging, illness, disability, or other conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities and personal care, including:

- mobility assistance and toileting

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment by supervising the home setting.
  • Facilitate meal planning and routine housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces.
  • Provide companionship through social interaction, emotional support, and engagement in stimulating activities.
  • Offer respite care for families, adhering to established care plans.
  • Assist with errands and shopping, managing client funds under supervision.
  • Support clients in following dietary guidelines as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments and community outings as outlined in care plans.
  • Assist clients with communication needs, including writing correspondence and researching information.
  • Contribute to the Care Team by sharing insights and suggestions.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage supplies and resources effectively.
  • Evaluate service delivery and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Document daily activities, observations, and service hours accurately.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
