Nursing Assistant Trainee

Job SummaryThe Nursing Assistant Trainee is enrolled in a learning experience designed to develop the confidence and competence to serve as a caregiver. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will work in partnership with a preceptor to provide personal care to clients. Your role will involve assisting with basic health care needs, activities of daily living, and other personal care as assigned.
Responsibilities- Assist clients with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, undressing, and other personal care needs
- Obtain vital signs and provide psychosocial support
- Assist with transferring, repositioning, range of motion exercises, and walking using appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
- Assist clients with meals and snacks and provide water and nutritional supplements as appropriate
- Assist with housekeeping, laundry services, and other duties as assigned
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. You will also need to be at least 16 years old and have prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. Additionally, you will need to be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry when applicable.
