Manufacturing Utility Associate Technician

Location: New Albany, Ohio

Position Overview

The Associate Technician is tasked with acquiring knowledge and skills pertinent to their designated functions.

This role emphasizes hands-on training, adherence to safety protocols, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and compliance with customer specifications alongside Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

This position involves personal development to undertake additional responsibilities, broaden skill sets, and enhance capabilities.

Key Responsibilities


Engage in learning and executing tasks related to the safe operation and upkeep of various manufacturing and warehouse machinery, tailored to the specific processes and materials involved.

Monitor equipment metrics (such as meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, and pressures) to ensure compliance with production, warehouse, and quality standards.


Operate material handling devices, including electric hand trucks, pallet lifts, hoists, and other necessary equipment. Participate in the daily Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) verification checklist at the start of each shift and report any issues to the Supervisor that may hinder equipment use. Conduct pre- and post-unloading equipment inspections.


Assist in equipment changeovers and setups, which include cleaning and inspecting parts, reviewing checklists, collaborating on equipment setup and startup, and providing support in functional areas.

Troubleshoot common equipment issues and make adjustments with guidance.

Understand daily production data used to manage operations (MDI Boards, electronic platforms, etc.).

Comply with cGMP standards while completing relevant documentation, adhering to good documentation practices, and performing quality control checks.

Report any safety, quality compliance, or equipment issues. Communicate needs or request additional support as necessary.

Participate in all required housekeeping (5S), cleaning, and sanitation tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience required.

Certifications

Must possess or be able to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) certification training.

Experience

0-2 years of relevant work experience and successful completion of the Pharmavite Technician Program.

Ability to collaborate in a diverse team environment. Familiarity with manufacturing and warehouse processes or a combination of skills, knowledge, and demonstrated learning ability is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


Ability to read and understand written instructions and communicate standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices, and safety standards as required.

Ability to accurately record information on documents and forms.


Basic math skills, including addition, multiplication, and division, to adjust equipment and calculate parameters and quality control measures, as well as understanding decimal placement using electronic devices.

Physical ability to distinguish colors, weights, flavors, and general product appearance.

Basic proficiency with hand tools.

Computer skills, including basic use of MS Word and Excel.

Experience in a team-oriented environment and adaptability to continuous change is preferred.

Self-motivated with a desire to learn additional operational functions.

Learn specific tasks based on the area of operation.

Physical Requirements


Must be able to stand and/or walk for the entire work shift, with limited flexibility to move from assigned stations unless relieved by others.

Perform repetitive tasks.

Occasionally lift and move loads unassisted up to 40 pounds, and over 40 pounds with the aid of pallet jacks, two-person lifts, or other mechanical assistance.

Pull and push product boxes on/offline and/or pallets using pallet jacks, hoists, etc.

Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment controls, manage production containers, and use hand tools for assembly and disassembly of equipment while addressing quality variations.

Must be able to navigate stairs and rolling platforms with handrails.

Role may involve bending and scooping large quantities of products from containers and dumping them into hoppers above head level.


Work Environment

Regular exposure to noise levels that necessitate hearing protection. Warm temperatures, fumes, vibrations, dust, etc., may cause minor discomfort. Operating conditions may vary by department. Employees are required to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including protective eyewear, hearing protection, hairnets, safety shoes, and uniforms as designated for their department.

Safety

The incumbent must perform this role safely by adhering to standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices without compromising their own or others' health and safety, including proper use of PPE.

Minimal travel may be required for training purposes.

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range
$35, $53,608.00

This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary for this position, plus annual incentives.

Various factors are considered when determining a candidate's starting salary, including job experience, specific skills, and comparisons to current employees in similar roles.

Pharmavite compensates all non-exempt (hourly) employees for all overtime hours worked in compliance with state and federal law.

Management will determine the need for overtime based on customer and business requirements. Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime as necessary.

Voluntary overtime requests from non-exempt employees must receive prior approval from their supervisor.
