The City of University City seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Services Coordinator to join our team. As an age-friendly community advocate, you will play a vital role in promoting senior services that advance the goal of a vibrant and inclusive community.

About the Role

This part-time position is responsible for coordinating services and enrichment programs for senior residents. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of working independently, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Senior Commission to develop and implement effective senior services
  • Collaborate with St. Louis County's Age-Friendly Program to promote senior well-being and quality of life
  • Develop innovative programs to provide services to seniors, including recreational activities and educational workshops
  • Coordinate and supervise volunteers to support senior programs and services
  • Promote senior services through oral and written communications
  • Conduct community outreach to engage seniors and identify gaps in services
  • Serve as a spokesperson before audiences, representing the Department Director as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Gerontology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Able to build relationships with non-profits, government agencies, and community organizations
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Working Conditions

The office environment is typical with no unusual requirements. Some travel between locations may be required. The physical demands of this position include sitting most of the time, exerting up to 10 lbs occasionally, and being able to work in a variety of settings.

Benefits

The City of University City offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional benefits include paid time off, health insurance, and retirement plan.
