Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at WellSpace Health. As a key member of our outpatient drug treatment department, you will provide counseling and treatment services to patients with substance use challenges, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to patients with substance use disorders, using evidence-based practices and tailoring treatment plans to meet each patient's unique needs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate records of patient progress, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., counseling, psychology, social work) or equivalent experience.
  • Valid certification as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with patients with substance use disorders, preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
