Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Scientist at the Nevada Water Science Center, your responsibilities will encompass the following:
- Supporting senior scientists in executing scientific research.
- Gathering geological and hydrological information.
- Aiding in the formulation of scientific documentation.
- Organizing and maintaining scientific datasets and databases.
- Operating a vehicle as needed for job-related tasks.
Physical Requirements
This role demands a degree of physical activity, including the potential for extended periods of standing in laboratory settings. Fieldwork may involve significant walking and climbing over uneven or rugged terrain. Candidates should be prepared for physical tasks such as lifting objects exceeding 50 pounds and navigating confined spaces.

Qualifications
Educational Requirements:

- A combination of education and experience equivalent to the aforementioned degree requirements, totaling four years of relevant experience.
For GS-07 Level:
In addition to the basic education requirement, candidates must meet one of the following:
- One year of graduate-level education in a related field.
- Demonstrated superior academic achievement based on undergraduate studies.
- One year of relevant professional experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in Federal service.
For GS-09 Level:
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Two years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree in a related field.
- One year of relevant professional experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in Federal service.
All candidates must meet the qualifications and eligibility criteria by the closing date of the announcement.
Additional Information:
