Job Summary

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of production employees in a fast-paced environment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety of all employees, maintaining quality and production standards, and providing feedback to the Production Shift Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership and direction to production staff, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  2. Determine staffing needs to meet production deadlines.
  3. Examine signoffs produced to determine if items meet specifications.
  4. Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  5. Support company policies, enforce safety regulations, and monitor safety on a regular basis.
  6. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  7. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of production, quality of product, department, and/or crews.
  8. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in solving work problems.
  9. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.
  10. Perform 6S audits quarterly and ensure staff has equipment 6S compliant by shift end.
  11. Daily walks to perform continuity audits and monitor production progress.
  12. Maintain time and production records.
  13. Confer with other leaders to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Requirements
  1. Ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and make recommendations.
  2. Ability to work independently and to plan and organize work.
  3. Ability to coach and train department personnel.
  4. Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
  5. Computer literate.
  6. Physical effort - refer to physical demand analysis.
  7. Fluency in the English language is a requirement for this position to ensure the safety of all employees and team members.
Education and Experience
  1. A two-year Graphic Arts degree or five plus years related experience including supervision and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Extensive knowledge of production processes related to production equipment, materials, and product.
  3. Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing principles: 6S, Set-up Reduction, and TPM.
