Job Summary:

The Safety Engineer will be responsible for participating in hazard analyses of manufacturing operations, reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs), analyzing process-start-up documentation, and developing other technical documentation. You will also support and manage safety and occupational health programs, participate in program compliance audits, and serve as a critical safety reviewer for process manufacturing start-up and approval.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in hazard analyses of manufacturing operations and review SOPs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze process-start-up documentation and develop technical documentation to support safety and health programs.
  • Support and manage safety and occupational health programs, including conducting safety inspections and investigations.
  • Participate in program compliance audits and serve as a critical safety reviewer for process manufacturing start-up and approval.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and implementation of safety and health programs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field (chemical, mechanical, and/or electrical) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational health and safety, with a strong understanding of 29 CFR 1910.
  • Experience in reviewing technical data packages and engineering drawings, conducting design reviews, and providing input for hazard identification and mitigation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
