Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Health Program Manager to lead our Behavioral Health team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the staff and daily operations to ensure optimal client experiences.

The ideal candidate will have a Master of Science degree or comparable experience, and a current license to practice as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State or a Master Social Worker. They will also have 4-6 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership/management experience.

The Behavioral Health Program Manager will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and coordinating the staff and daily operations to ensure optimal client experiences.
  • Providing administrative and clinical services for treatment programs.
  • Providing therapy sessions, presentations, and seminars.
  • Promoting Behavioral Health department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
  • Leading the activities of assigned Behavioral Health team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
  • Managing day-to-day activities of assigned treatment program.
  • Participating in program planning and evaluation.
  • Coordinating and overseeing development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and procedures to facilitate optimal functioning of the program.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of treatment modalities and performing assessments to monitor their performance.
  • Assisting the Department Head in conducting Performance Improvement activities to ensure that program services are provided in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Maintaining and updating program policies and procedures ensuring compliance with current regulations, health system policies, and quality care standards.
  • Supervising, hiring, training, disciplining, and evaluating the performance of staff.
  • Ensuring performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
  • Arranging staff training to foster optimal therapeutic interaction with patients.

Requirements

  • Master of Science degree or comparable experience.
  • Current license to practice as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State or a Master Social Worker.
  • 4-6 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership/management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LCSW preferred.
