Position Overview:

As a Radiology Support Specialist, you will work under the guidance of the Radiology Manager, assisting technologists with both technical and patient care responsibilities. Your role will involve maintaining necessary supplies and ensuring that examination rooms are prepared for patient visits. You will also provide assistance to patients during their examination procedures and handle various clerical tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage reception and telecommunication tasks for the department, including answering calls and greeting patients.
  • Assist in rescheduling appointments and communicating essential information to patients.
  • Serve as a resource for patients regarding their radiology exams.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and equipment.
  • Perform general office duties, such as sorting mail and managing interdepartmental correspondence.
  • Utilize computer systems for patient information management and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
  • Ensure the accuracy of medical records by submitting necessary forms to Medical Records.
  • Transport specimens to the laboratory as required.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED, with additional training in Medical Terminology preferred. A Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required, and experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
