Job Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Professor - Leadership and Administration to join our faculty at the School of Information, San Jose State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the Leadership and Administration cluster, including INFO 204 - Information Professions, and will serve as core course coordinator for these courses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach INFO 204 - Information Professions and other courses in the Leadership and Administration cluster.
- Serve as core course coordinator for courses in the Leadership and Administration cluster.
- Conduct research in areas such as advocacy and advocacy metrics in the information professions, decision making in the information professions, and management of globally distributed teams of information professionals.
- Participate in shared governance, including department, college, and university committees.
- Participate in state, national, and international professional organizations.
Requirements:
- An earned doctorate by the start of appointment.
- A record of scholarly and professional achievement.
- Evidence of potential for teaching effectiveness.
- Applicants should demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 100% online teaching experience.
- Teaching capabilities in areas such as foundations of the information professions, challenges and critical success factors of information service development, and effective mediation between users and resources.
