Job Title: Assistant Professor of Strategic Management

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Strategic Management to join our faculty at San Jose State University's Lucas College and Graduate School of Business. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in strategic management, innovation, organizational theory, business and society, and business law.

About the Position

This is a tenure-track position that requires a doctorate from an accredited university and/or scholarly active (SA) status under AACSB standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong research agenda in strategic management and innovation, with a focus on connecting our students to the business community in Silicon Valley.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in strategic management, innovation, organizational theory, business and society, and business law at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Develop and maintain an active research agenda in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Engage with multicultural and diverse undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Participate in shared governance at all levels of the university and other service assignments.
  • Develop inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement to meet the needs of a student population of great diversity.
Requirements
  • A doctorate from an accredited university and/or scholarly active (SA) status under AACSB standards.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence or potential for teaching effectiveness in strategic management, innovation, organizational theory, business and society, or business law.
  • Demonstrated record of, or potential for scholarly publications in strategic management or related areas.
  • An interest in engaging with Silicon Valley management and innovation professionals and connecting our students to the business community.
  • Evidence of awareness and sensitivity to the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates whose research focus is in strategic management and innovation will be given priority.
