Job Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking a skilled Assembly Operator I to join our Rugged Fiber Optics team at our Fairview, NC facility. As an Assembly Operator I, you will be responsible for assembling and packaging fiber optic connector components, terminating single and multi-fiber cables, and inspecting your work using quality standards and work instructions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Polish and test fiber optic cables.
  • Assemble and package fiber optic connector components.
  • Terminate single and multi-fiber cables.
  • Inspect own work using quality standards and work instructions.
  • Conduct tests as needed for particular operations.
  • Measure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices.
  • Inspect product to print.
  • Complete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of product.
  • May troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment.
  • General housekeeping of work area.
  • Follow company and department guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Follow safety guidelines.
  • Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Read and perform tasks according to drawings.
  • Recognize common fiber connectors.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assembly.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum one year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing fiber cables preferred.
  • SAP Manufacturing & ISO 9001 experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools and blueprint reading.
  • Available to work overtime to support production goals as needed.
  • Team Oriented - will work effectively and cohesively with other employees to achieve required objectives and goals.
  • Credibility - takes responsibility for his/her own work. Respects confidential information and concerns shared by others.
  • A safe and quality conscious attitude.
  • Must be able to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to remain in stationary position 75% of the time.
  • Must be able to operate machinery.
  • Must be able to move between work zones.
  • Must be proficient and able to understand written instructions in English language.

Compensation

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $35,360 – $39,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
