Sigma Design is seeking a highly skilled Test Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, assembling, maintaining, inspecting, testing, and making necessary repairs on prototype materials handling equipment parts, systems, or vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Collaborate with our Test Engineers to design and develop prototype materials handling equipment parts, systems, or vehicles.
- Testing and Inspection: Conduct thorough testing and inspection of prototype equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and company specifications.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on prototype equipment as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and documentation of test results, including written, photo, and video documentation.
- Education and Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a technician in the automotive, materials handling, agriculture, or similar technologies industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding, machining, and fabrication, as well as experience interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in a standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery, and to stand and work for extended periods of time.
- Education: Associate of Applied Science Degree or equivalent certification.
- Technical Skills: Experience with sensor selection and data acquisition systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools, especially Excel.
