ECMO Specialist

We are seeking an ECMO Specialist to join our team at Ascension Seton in Austin, Texas.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires operating extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) equipment and performing ECMO therapy according to physician orders. The ideal candidate will have experience with ECMO circuit maintenance, anticoagulation management, and documentation skills.
Responsibilities- Maintain pump integrity and monitor circuit volume during patient therapy.
- Administer products, medications, and volumes as ordered by physicians.
- Monitor anticoagulation, electrolyte, acid-base balance, and blood-gas composition values to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Generate and compile accurate documentation and charges related to ECMO therapy.
To be considered for this role, you must have one or more of the following certifications:
- Registered Nurse from the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program.
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
In addition, you should have either a high school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or an Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
