Job Summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Surgical Administration team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development and implementation of patient care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations, and develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform minor surgical procedures as needed.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare staff on various aspects of patient care and health promotion.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.
  • Successful completion of ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse healthcare teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
