Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Surgical Services team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development and implementation of patient care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations, medical histories, and laboratory results.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and treatment goals.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory results and imaging studies.
- Prescribe medications and treatments, as authorized by state law and hospital policy.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and hospital policies.
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York.
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner).
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting, preferably in a surgical or medical-surgical unit.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The Nurse Practitioner will be expected to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, communicate effectively with patients and families, and maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
